Application Information
How do students apply?
Students typically apply for the honours program in the Winter semester of their 3rd year. If accepted, students enter the honours program in the Fall semester of their 4th year. The application process involves:
- Contact a full-time faculty member:
Reach out to faculty members to seek approval for them to potentially serve as an honours thesis supervisor. See the full-time faculty members’ bios to identify potential honours thesis supervisors: https://www.smu.ca/criminology/crim-faculty-and-staff.html
2. Complete two forms:
- Fill out the Departmental application https://forms.office.com/r/0T85CgHM42
(This form will be sent to the Department when you press "submit") - Fill out the Registrar’s form: https://www.smu.ca/academics/student-forms.html
- Submit the following to the Department's Administrative Assistant criminology@smu.ca:
- Registrar's form
- Unofficial transcript
